feather painting - practise

It's been a long time since I tackled any feather painting.  I came across an old feather painting of mine today (how can you tell I'm cleaning out the office/studio).  I could see why it was thrown in a box unfinished ...so I painted over it and this is what I ended up with.  There are separations on the feather, but they come that way  (not on the bird, but from the supplier) so there isn't much you can do about them.  I like painting on them, but have to think of a good way to ship before I offer them for sale :)

Gosh, what a great idea Leola! I have parrots and so I have bags of old feathers. I never thought to paint on them, lol! ...but might give it a try now that I see how nicely yours came out!! Kathryn
