Ebay Strike over - opened my Etsy Store

The Ebay strike is over. Now to wait and see what effect (if any) the boycott had. I know that the numbers were down. Anywhere from 4% on Monday to over 12% on Wednesday (depending on what news group you looked at) I still intend on using Ebay to sell my art, but I am not going to put all my eggs in one basket now. I've opened a new Etsy store at Etsy.com You will find me here: southshoreartist.etsy.com I will be adding new things weekly to get the inventory up. I am also trying out artandcraftauctions.com as an alternative auction site.

Ebay Strike -- ArtandCraftAuctions

I decided to sort of spread my art around (not put everything in one basket) I have put up some test auctions at ArtandCraftAuctions tonight. I hope to have some paintings done this weekend to put on Etsy. There are so many auction houses now, that it's hard to choose which ones to list on. I will go for these two for now, but will be reading and watching what luck others are having on other sites. I will still probably use the "big E" for auctions, but I think most artists eventually break away from that site to "art only" venues.

Ebay Strike February 18 - 25

Here is a link to a wonderful article written by fellow blogger and artist Mousewords. It explains how new Ebay policies will effect the ma and pa sellers like myself. It will be extremely difficult to continue on Ebay unless you are a Power Seller. Please take the time to read this well written article and support our boycott this week. Thank you.

Thank you Christine for taking the time to write the article :)

Lily of the Valley (thinking of spring)

I painted this today. I think I have cabin fever. I'm sick of the cold, snow and ice. Can't wait for spring to arrive (maybe what....another 8 weeks if we are lucky) Anyway, it's not listed anywhere just yet. Have to wait for the Ebay boycott to be over (Feb 18 - 25) Or I'll put on Etsy.

Waiting out the storm (Ebay Strike)

Finding time to do a little painting while I wait out the strike on Ebay. I'm also using the time to find other places to list my art. Etsy is looking better and better all the time. I'm already registered there under Southshoreartist. I just have to get some art listed :)
