Michael Jackson ACEO tribute

Michael Jackson. Painted with acrylics entirely in black and white. Symbolic of his passing, I have kept his face completely in the shadows. Only his props show up clearly.
ACEO in size (2.5" x 3.5") These paintings are listed on Ebay here

EBSQart flower of the Month Exhibition - Foxglove

I entered this painting in June's Flower of the month at EBSQart and I was thrilled when it received the "member's mention" award. This was the 8 x 10 painting. I never did finish the larger one. I should try to finish it one of these days. You can see the show and all the entries here at EBSQart

Kinookimaw - evening

A beautiful hot summer day, topped off by this beautiful evening. We went downtown to the main beach today for supper......insane. I forgot how busy the beach is just before the July long weekend! 50,000 people trying to fit into a town of 5000. Give me the peace of Kinookimaw any day.......

Work in Progress - Stormy Sea Sunset........horse

I did some more work on the water this morning. It still needs more detail, but I am satisfied with how the waves are coming into shore.
And here is my mystery object. A lone black horse running along the shoreline. Is he real or is the storm playing tricks on you?
It took me a few tries to get a size I was happy with. I have to do all the detail work on him yet, but the basics are there now.

Work in Progress - Stormy Sea ?

My last entries for today. I added the lightning and then worked on the water some more......No the rocks aren't the mystery object LOL
Just some sublte lighting additions to this photo. More reflection on shore and some more lighting to the lightning. The empty spot on the right is where the object will go.

Work in Progress - Stormy Sea with ?something

This is the start of a new painting I'm doing for myself. It is larger than what I usually do. 20" x 16". I want a sunset, but storm forming overhead. Here I have put the basic elements in, but will have to add lightning etc later.
Work started on the water. I have to add waves etc, but wanted to figure out the "lay of the land" sort of speak. In Saskatchewan we have very dramatic sunsets. I want this painting to be very bold to, so have chosen bright bold colours for the evening sky.
The next stage after the water will be painting the shore line and adding a "mystery object" that I will reveal later. Please check back to see the progress.

Kinookimaw - June sunset and rain

I thought I would share where I get some of my inspiration from when I paint my "element" paintings. This is looking out from our deck towards Pelican Point on Last Mountain Lake about 8:00 last night. We had a little rain storm coming in from the west. Didn't last long and we were still able to sit out until the mosquitos drove us in.
