"GOOD LIQUOR AND CUBAN CIGAR"
4" X 5" ACRYLIC ON illustration board

I'm quite happy with how this one turned out.  My own reference photo...I set up the shot and tried various settings and lighting.  The one thing that surprised me was how long it took to paint.  It was much more labor intense than I expected.  It took the best part of the week, painting a bottle a day (I said painting not drinking! LOL)

I have not listed this one for sale as I will likely frame it and then enter it in a miniature exhibition, but if you are interested in this or a painting similar, please contact me at rlwalker @ sasktel.net....(no spaces)

The Whalers
8 x 10" acrylic
unmatted and unframed

Breaking the surface of  the still waters.  you can glimpse the Orca's  painful past when the whalers appeared....

My newest painting.  Such a sad soulful tale. Whales have been evading man ever since man had boats and spears....he carries this memory in his soul.

Coming Home...First Nations Inspired painting.....aceo

 Coming Home 2.5" x 3.5" acrylic & Ink

I've always been inspired by First Nation Art,  in particular Plains People.  I'm drawn to the beautiful simplicity of it and the very nature of it....For me it's magical.  I used to include a pair of similar styled geese on every envelope I sent a painting in......I don't know why I stopped.... Here is a piece I painted today titled Coming Home.  As always you will find this piece listed on Ebay.  Enjoy

First Frost!!!!! Foxglove and Lace

I started this 20 x 24" painting about 4 or 5  years ago.....I painted the background and then kind of lost my inspiration for it.......I showed it to a group of artist friends and they threw out various suggestions ..mostly to keep the ghostly look of it...  Some suggested even,  that it was finished.   Anyway, I have renewed interest in it, and started working on it again.

This is what I've done so far....I've added some Queen Anne's Lace at the back, some more blooms (but not many because it's getting late in the season) and have started painting on "frost"......

Fairies are Born
2.5" x 3.5"
acrylic

My fellow artist and friend Cheryl had painted an African Puff flower.....It reminded me of dandelions gone to seed.  I love dandelions and their seeds floating through the air (as long as it's not in my yard)  It has sort of a magical feel about it.  So I decided that this was how fairies were born...and then they float away on the summer breeze

Listed on eBay here
YOU ARE GIRAFFING ME CRAZY!!!!!!! 2.5" x 3.5" acrylic.......Listed on eBay.......this one is going to sell....

A totally new style of listing from me.  You will find Donalda Listed on eBay here

Donalda Do-Rag Goes to Creepy Hollow
2.5" x 3.5" pen and ink
Donalda Do-Rag went to Creepy Hollow on her really cool bike she bought after saving coupons for over 15 years. She was taking fresh baked brownies to her Grandmother. Her cousin Red, (3 times removed on her mother's side) was supposed to do it, but as usual had bombed out and was off picking mushrooms with the leader of that wolf pack that was always hanging around. You know the kind.....swanky dressers, speedy cars, fast talkers....Oddly her Grandmother's house is shaped like a mushroom.  (did you notice that?)   She has a lot of mushrooms in the woods behind her place, so the hippies are always in there picking them, and that really annoys Grandma. So once a week someone has to bring her brownies so she will chill out. This week it fell on Donalda Do-Rag.  The wolf in the picture isn't going to eat her or probably even talk to her....he's just kind of strung out on the road.....Anyway, that is Donalda's story.....she will have more stories...but that's for another day and another listing..

Marbles 2.5" x 3.5" coloured pencil

It's been awhile since I played around with coloured pencil.  I love the depth you can get with them.  I might start using them again.

Listed on eBay here

Sky Dance 2.5" x 3.5" acrylic

With the long winter we've been having, I have been thinking more and more about spring and summer.  I love watching storms roll up on the lake......as long as they don't get too close or too wild!!!

Listed on eBay here

Sky Tower 2.5" x 3.5" acylic

We are having one of the snowiest blusteriest  coldest, annoying winters on record here in Saskatchewan.  It seems like we've been getting at least one winter storm a week.  The snow is piled high and I for one am looking forward to spring!  On the plus side, the cold days leave plenty of time for painting.  Here is my renditon of the Northern Lights on a clear cold winter's night.

As always listed on eBay here

Where to start.  I vowed this year, I would try to keep up my blog posts.....hmmm so far that's not working out so well.  I have been busy with art stuff though.......

We started a sub group on facebook (over 200 members in one month)  to enhance the parent aceo group on eBay.  Lots and lots of chatting has been going on there....and lots of information on projects that we are doing over at the big group. I'm a moderator of the big eBay group.  We are the oldest aceo group on eBay with over 5000 members and the owner of the group is Bone Diva who started the ACEO movement back in the day.... To join us on facebook, here is a link:

ACEO ~ Art Card Editions and Originals on Ebay

Also, I started my own art group on Facebook, it's for all mediums, all sizes except aceo (there are enough groups for them)  We are a loud boisterous group who share ideas, network, and art!  No topic is taboo.....(except aceo LOL)  Artists and collectors alike are welcome here....We also from time to time list calls for art etc. and anything "free" like online classes that we think may be of interest.

To join my art group on eBay, here is a link:

All Art but ACEO (All Artists and Collectors)

See you guys on the boards!!!!!
