Sharing Paintings - Airbrush

I'm not painting much these days so decided to share one of my favourite paintings I own with you. This is a beautiful 16" x 20" airbrushed painting my daughter Erica painted in 1995. She did this in her Grade 12 art class. We fell completely in love with it so had it framed and it has hung in our various livingrooms ever since!

Do you want to dance? New paintings

I love Dancing with the Stars. I had never seen the Argentine Tango before that. I fell in love with. It has got to be the sexiest dance ever. Done properly you can feel the electricity between the dancers.

The Flamenco is just as colourful. It seems all the latin dances are a cornucopia of emotions and drama. You can feel the music.

Both of these are aceo size (2.5" x 3.5") acrylics and coloured pencil. You can find them both listed on Ebay here

Saskatoon picking - Kinookimaw

Fresh picked this morning right in the backyard. The seasons almost over but we will freeze some for later use :)

paractising pastels - cougar

Ok, I cheated a bit and added some coloured pencil to it. I added more blue pastel and some white whiskers, but when I spray the fixative on it, they disappear. I added colour pencil whiskers and they stayed after spraying. I think I need to change paper for pastel. Something with a little more "teeth".

practising with pastels......cougar

After watching the pastel tut at EBSQart last week, I decided to try and put the lesson to the test. Guess what....it was much harder than it looked on the tut. This is a 4 x 6" OSWOA. I had to work a little larger than usual to get the feel for the pastels. I think it will be quite some time before I am confident enough to try smaller. The scan has not shown the colours very well. The cougar's eyes are blue and the fur is a lot more "orangy". I wonder why the colours are washing out? I will have to try and scan again I thing. I chose to do a cougar because the tut was of an animal. Animals are not my favourite things to paint.

Michael Jackson ACEO tribute

Michael Jackson. Painted with acrylics entirely in black and white. Symbolic of his passing, I have kept his face completely in the shadows. Only his props show up clearly.

EBSQart flower of the Month Exhibition - Foxglove

I entered this painting in June's Flower of the month at EBSQart and I was thrilled when it received the "member's mention" award. This was the 8 x 10 painting. I never did finish the larger one. I should try to finish it one of these days. You can see the show and all the entries here at EBSQart
