Magpies - painted on 146 year old ledger paper

It all started out with a sheet of ledger paper that I was given......a perfect size for a 5" x 7" painting....No books were harmed with this painting.....I was given one random sheet from a store ledger.
I did just a little background painting

 Then I added a tree......living or dead?
 Then came the Magpies.....
 Started with the black.......
 added some white.......
then finished with some colour because I'm sure they aren't perfectly black and white...although the ones around here are so nervous you never really get a good look at them....

How cool! What a gorgeous painting and I love how you have it framed. Guess it's a keeper :)

Wonderful painting Leola!
How about painting on music paper too, I think that would be another pretty background.
