Northern Bay 4" x 6" acrylic
I have been woefully neglecting my blog.  And my paintings, but I finally got something done this week.  This is a little different than what I usually do.  I wanted to paint a waterfall and decided I wanted frozen and partially frozen ones.  We've seen frozen waterfalls before and they really are beautiful.  I experimented with the cliff, by using a knife to cut in the rock.

This painting can be found as usual listed on Ebay here

Spirit of the North OSWOA 4 x 6" postcard size painting

Spirit of the North 4" x 6" acrylic

What started out as a painting of Northern Lights, soon took shape of a spirit wolf....I don't know when the idea evolved, but I was actually thinking of the colour of glacial lakes...????...how northern lights and a wolf came out of that I'll never know....sometimes these things just take shape I guess LOL

You will find this 4" x 6" painting listed on Ebay here

Autumn 2.5 x 3.5" ACEO acrylic

Autumn Storm  2.5 x 3.5" acrylic ACEO

Even though the days are still hot hot hot, and we are running the a/c steady, the nights have started cooling off and you can feel that "hint" of fall in the air.  Got me thinking of all the fall colours that will soon be popping up everywhere.  As usual will find my paintings listed on Ebay here  Free shipping within Canada :)

aceo Pressed Flower Art

Pressed Flower Fairy - 2.5" x 3.5"
Something a little different today.  I was bored with just "painting" so I decided to incorporate some pressed flowers into my painting.  The flower was just perfect for her skirt (they pressed flowers are 7 years old so don't ask me what kind) and leaves for her wings....A little pressed flower dragonfly flew by.  This is listed on Ebay here

Guardian Angel 4 x 6" painting

Guardian Angel....4 x 6" acrylic

I did a similar painting last year (but in coloured pencil) and totally ruined it when I tried to put the finishing sealent on it.  So....I decided to try again, but with acrylics this time....I darn near ruined it again, but managed to finish and get it listed this time.  You will find this painting on Ebay here

Cityscape aceo

City Lights 2.5" x 3.5" acrylic

Something slightly different from my usual.  I thought I would try a cityscape.....I love when we are in the city how the lights reflect off Wascana lake...and although this depicts a slightly larger city than where I live, the reflection is still the same.....You will find this painting listed on EBay here

Ropin'  4" x 6" acrylic on vintage newsprint

 Magpies - 6" x 4" acrylic on vintage newsprint

I am hooked on painting on vintage newsprint.  I am using only the newspapers I have that are "ripped" already.  Ever since I painted the magpies on 100+ year old journal paper back February I've been fascinated with old paper.  I am torn between 5 x 7 or the postcard size 4 x 6 so I've decided on the postcard size....it's still small in nature (the size I like to paint) but can still be framed.

You will find these two listed on Ebay here

CHAPS.....6" X 4" ACRYLIC ON VINTAGE PAPER

I am trying something new.....I have a ton of old newspapers for the 30's....I also have some old magazines from the 50's and older.  They are not in good shape so I can't really sell them as is, so I decided to paint on them.  This one is form the March 1936 Edition of the Nor-West Farmer...This newspaper was out of Calgary Alberta so what would be better to depict life in Alberta than a cowboy!!!  Makes you think of the Calgary Stampede doesn't it.

This like most of my pieces is listed on Ebay here.  I am hoping to do more of these in the coming days.
Ok, here goes....I'm so confused with this new format...and I haven't been blogging much lately so haven't had a chance to play with it.

Dragon Storm.  2.5" x 3.5" acrylic

I'm still loving dragons...I think it's from my obsession with the books A song of Ice and Fire....I love everthing about the books....I'm on the last one...Book 5,  A Dance with Dragons......hard reading, but worth it.  Anyway, I have been painting dragons....this one is listed on Ebay...you will find it here
